Cannabis Medicine Certificate for Mental Health Professionals

Introduction

Marijuana is commonly used for medicinal or recreational purposes in most states, and the chances of a mental health professional working with patients who use cannabis are higher than ever. The course will answer the following questions: How does cannabis affect my patients' mental health & physical health? What potential drug interactions and side effects must I be aware of? What is the differences between medical cannabis use, recreational marijuana use, and when it's considered a substance abuse problem? and will address legal and ethical issues.

 

6-hours of Continuing Education for Mental Health Professionals are offered.

This course is appropriate for furthering and maintaining the clinical skills or knowledge of licensed clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists.
