Cannabis Medicine Certificate for Mental Health Professionals

Introduction

Marijuana is commonly used for medicinal or recreational purposes in most states, and the chances of a mental health professional working with patients who use cannabis are higher than ever. The course will answer the following questions: How does cannabis affect my patients' mental health & physical health? What potential drug interactions and side effects must I be aware of? What is the differences between medical cannabis use, recreational marijuana use, and when it's considered a substance abuse problem? and will address legal and ethical issues.

 

6-hours of Continuing Education for Mental Health Professionals are offered.

​This course is appropriate for furthering and maintaining the clinical skills or knowledge of licensed clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists.
